Review:
The story of how World War Z has been made much more poignant and exciting than the movie itself. After going way over budget and enduing full review and re-shoot of the Final Act, WWZ was not exactly set for success. Ultimately, the film is completely forgettable and uneven, but not offensively bad or objectively awful in every way. What struck me was how many missed opportunities, considering how interesting and entertaining source material is.Having read the book World War Z, I saw the trailer for this film, that would not be quite true adaptation. I thought the most interesting aspects of the book was a study of how Zombie Plague affected the social and political structures in the world. Something like this is completely ignored in the film, but I can at least understand how the filmmakers thought that these aspects will be working in a full-length movie. What I can not understand how the filmmakers seem to have ignored the book is obviously the most cinematic content. The book contains many scenes SETPIECE, and, frankly, many of them are connected with the world falls zombie infection, and the film is not enough to cover it. However, the huge battle scenes of the book - the meat titular zombie war, including the battle of Yonkers, nuclear war between Pakistan and Iran, the Chinese civil war and massive zombie battle order - are completely absent. I was very surprised that they do not relate to it, especially the scene Yonkers, because it was obviously so well in the film and the script, even if it is, can be easily tweaked to be, or at least call them. Actions that have made it in this movie is very unsatisfactory and unclear due to restrictions PG-13 rating, and the story around is not involved enough to really invested in me it.I was also surprised at how cheap this movie looked. This film is worth hundreds of millions of dollars to make, but it is difficult to see what it was all on the screen. Hordes of zombies look very fake and not threatening, and in some cases, individual computer-animated zombie that gave me bad memories of the I Am Legend Overload terrible CGI. Apart from the opening scene in Philadelphia and in the Middle attack in Jerusalem, there are no large open sets. The South Korean air base is depicted as a series of dark rooms, too much of the film takes place in an airplane seat, there is a lot of sitting inside an aircraft carrier, etc. a sense of scale is very controversial, and it is exacerbated in the country of the Final Act, which was obviously the focus of the infamous reshoots if it feels like a completely separate film. I consider myself a patient viewer, but it is a very long and boring scene began to pick up after a while, me and my less patient viewers finally fell completely out of sync with the movie and began to ridicule at every opportunity - not entirely fair criticism of the film, but it is a real problem when it can not hold the attention of the audience. The final act is actually an interesting idea in his heart, but one that has no connection with anything in the book, but I do not think that it was a well executed concept. A completely different style and tone of these scenes makes it feel like a completely different movie.Again, while there was nothing wrong all WWZ, I do not think it was something to be admired. In other words, a perfect five tenths film. I wish they were more aware of the potential for the starting material, without sharing the best and most cinematic aspects of the book, WWZ (film) and WWZ (book) is just the name and the central premise of Zombie Plague, which is not an original idea by itself.
