Review:
Great SF movies are all the rage this year (Oblivion, Elysium, Pacific Rim ...) and finally gravity is worth watching. From the trailers I had no idea what to expect. George Clooney and Sandra Bullock floating in the space of two hours, was making my best guess. Run film in the International Film Festival in Toronto, and when someone said that it displays in 3D, I was half tempted to leave the line. I hate 3D movies, they give me a terrible headache, and I do not see the point of them. Just as gravity began, I changed my mind.The 3D certainly adds something to the film. The shot of zone countries opening is absolutely beautiful. The film starts quickly enough. Sandra Bullock and George Clooney are both doing repairs in a spaceship, when Houston warns Russians exploited their own satellite and accidentally kill each other satellites there. Debris comes your way, and they must return to the earth as fast as possible. Of course, the trailer shows that debris makes its them, and without the ship to find other paths home. George Clooney George Clooney basically play in a spacesuit (ridiculously self-love character is also often played by Robert Downey Jr.) and Sandra Bullock plays a doctor who is trained for this month only mission. George gets very little screen time, but Sandra shines throughout the film. Despite his loneliness, I'd say there's a lot of action in the film. She herself out there, and you feel it too. The film takes you into space and feels claustrophobic to be there. It keeps you on the edge of your seat all the time. Throughout the film, you will see the character Sandras grows too. Not only is she trying to get back home, but she is thinking that would do well. The film is a visual masterpiece. Sure there are many CGI (basically everything you see on the screen is false), but never felt like that. For the first time, the 3D certainly adds something to the experience. You can get the depth of field that is required to actually test the movie and feel like you are right there with Sandra. It gives an absolutely stunning performance, works on anything, but always in place. If you have the opportunity to see the seriousness in theaters, go for it, especially if you see it in 3D (although they usually hate 3D, trust me, it's worth.) Alfonso Cuare? N is overcome with this movie is definitely a must see for fans of sci-fi.
