Review:
Talk about an appropriate name. This is a collection of 11 short stories directed by indie stalwart Jim Jarmusch (Strangers in Paradise, Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai), which have been removed in the past 18 years, all of which are involving two or more characters just sitting at a table, chatting via ... yes, coffee and cigarettes. In the hands of director smaller, which can be very boring, but Jarmusch is a master of subtle restraint and a large stone humor. This may be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, in which no one cracks a smile. Almost all the actors play themselves, which adds meta-theatrical, slightly surreal touch everything. Among my favorite stories, which tend to over-Alfred Molina has a surprisingly cool arrogant guy actor Steve Coogan and large, in which Cate Blanchett plays herself and her jealous cousin Shelby. Then there is the one where Tom Waits and Iggy Pop meets the jump bar to hear the case and smoke (on the occasion of smoking cessation), Jack and Meg White of the White Stripes experimenting with Tesla coils and funny cast, RZA and GZA from Wu-Tang Clan sharing some downtime, of all people, Bill Murray. I also like the Spike Lees with twin brothers and sisters, joy and Cinque dealing with invasive waiter (Steve Buscemi hilarious). Almost all the stories are great, but there are three that are very forgetful and quite unnecessary, and they are all in a row, which disrupts the flow of the film . If these three men were drained out, Coffee and cigarettes, it would be almost perfect, but it's still very good. And the three of roads in the first half, anyway. In the first hour of the film feel the same way as entertainment. With a serious expression, stone, B & W, as well as comedy Strangers in Paradise. But as it goes on, and strange connections are made between the stories, it seems, is suddenly a wonderful depth to it. The final story predovšetkýmv which has two old men in a dark room (Bill Rice and Taylor Mead) to discuss the life and break, it is itll last forever, has a distinct feel, Waiting for Godot, and the film ends note perfect, haunting, existential sadness. It was at that moment I realized that I had just watched a series of humorous short stories, but humorous story line, which says a lot about human nature and life in general. And if that is not enough interest, how often do you get to see Tom Waits and Iggy Pop to talk? Or, RZA, GZA, and Bill Murray?
